Norman Bates ain't wrong, this weird supergroup of Deerhoof, Juana Molina, Kasai Allstars, Konono No.1, Skeletons and Wildbirds & Peacedrums (I'll be honest I wasn't familiar with all their work but the first two hooked me in to give it a try), have made one of the biggest projects of the year – this thing is sprawling. If you're familiar with Deerhoof's level of weirdness, imagine that but it's a fiesta. The opening "Where's The One?", "Tita Tita", and "Beyond the 7th Bend" are key tracks. In short, Where's the One? sounds like the music of globalisation: signalling chaos, eclecticism and togetherness.
