Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 71.9/100, a mean average of 71.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 71.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.5.

Three of a Perfect Pair beats Beat in every way. This is an inspiring album with absolutely great tunes on side one and an industrial journey on side two. Side two is the most experimental side of all the records of their 80's era. I love it.

King Crimson were completely different in the 80s but in a very cool way. They've created some of the best 80s songs out there.

The worst of their three 80's albums, "Three of a Perfect Pair" has a few decent tracks, but it pales in comparison to Discipline and Beat in my eyes. The new wave songs are too dull compared to those from the previous two albums, and the experimental songs are a little too ungrounded and directionless to be enjoyable.

Two almost completely different albums. Side A, being garbage reminiscent of KC's worst album Beat, and side B being an avant garde, industrial delight.
