Following the three compilations that reissued all of Owens’ A-sides and B-sides on Capitol, this clever collection compiles all of Owens’ top 10 hits from that era in a slimmer two disc set. The 21 #1 Hits compilation remains Owens’ most concise compilation available for streaming, but Bakersfield Gold has the distinction of including some excellent B-sides that frequently do not appear next to the hits. Disc 1 has practically everything a fan of Owens’ would want, with Disc 2 presenting Buck and the band following their 60s peak.
Highly Recommended.
