Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.2/100, a mean average of 74.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.6.

Un buen álbum, donde creo que la producción de David Bowie en el mismo es bastante notoria.

Fun album from Mott that features the fantastic title track and a cover of the Velvet Underground's, Sweet Jane. It can feel a little inconsistent at times but it's still an enjoyable British rock'n'roll album.

I like this way better than their follow-up "Mott." Highlights are: "One of the Boys", a great classic rock tune in the vein of "Sympathy for the Devil" by the Stones or "5:15" by The Who, and the Mick Ralphs-sung "Ready for Love", which I think surpasses the Bad Company version with its jamming and earnest vocals.

This album is in the Rolling Stone 500 of all time, the reason why I listened to it. However it did not impress me.

Apart from Momma's Little Jewel this is all high quality from start to finish. Of course, nothing ever tops the title track which is the band's finest moment.

I agree, and in 1974, the movie "Alice doesn't live here anymore" (Martin Scorcese)opens with "all the way from memphis" (Mott the hoople)..one of the all time greatest openings for a movie.

Phenomenal at some points like Sweet Jane or All The Young Dudes (One of my favorite all time songs) but very weak at others, it seems to Marc Bolan in the second half of the album but he never has the same sensibility
