Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 16% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.3/100, a mean average of 72.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.0.

Hardcore that takes time to take in Krautrock, Shoegaze and Americana. If ever there were to be a raging soundtrack to a break up, this album does it. Cos that's exactly what's happening here.

Some serious skills here. I agree, Candy is the best song.

I only ever put this on for 'Turn It Around'. When I do listen to the rest I find myself enjoying it... don't remember it a week later. All the guitars and mess should be appealing to me. Perhaps I should check out different albums by them?

This album really impressed me. The Men have a very interesting sound to them. The first track on the album made me think “Oh, ok, these guys are kind of a new punk band." Then, every track was different. One minute these guys are blasting at you, knocking you down, and the next they’re picking you back up just to knock you down again. There are loud rock songs, and lengthy instrumentals, just a little bit of everything. They’re loud but not too loud, they blast their music but it’s not the kind that you lose the instruments in. They are very talented musicians, very proficient on their instruments. This isn’t an album that you’re going to be singing along to, but it’s one you’ll enjoy.

The first half of the album (5 songs) is not interesting. Sounds like Ramones and Sex Pistols or kinda. Not interesting. Instrumental tracks have interesting idea: feels like "hypnotizing punk". But they are boring.
"Open your heart" is good. But it's very like Buzzcocks-Ever Fallen in Love. But this song is very good.
The next one "Candy" has charisma-bass, sounds like 70-s ballad (Kiss "Beth") with Bob Dylan's vocals. Good.
Album is very mediocre and a bit late to time.

Good, if they were around 15 years ago they would have easily been classified as post-rock (a la Trans Am).
