Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 73.2/100, a mean average of 72.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 73.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.9.

Underrated album from the classic era of Deep Purple. All songs here are memorable, although they are not mind-blowing, they are a pretty solid listen.

Highlights are the title track, "High Ball Shooter", "The Gypsy" and "Soldier of Fortune".

Stormbringer is way better than you might expect. Rhythmically there is lots of funk and fewer complex rock elements, but there are many good songs. The instrumentation is solid and Coverdale is more confident. Hughes is a fine player and gives the band a fine base to rock on. This is the FINAL Mark 3 album and definitely it is recommended.

Soldier of Fortune and Stormbringer. Two good songs do not make a decent album. The other tracks have faded to oblivion.

Atualizando o seu som com uma pegada mais funk e o agudo vocal de Covardale o Deep Purple se transforma. Não é mais a imortal banda clássica de blues rock, mas continua sendo uma excelente banda de rock.

I love this album, although Ian Gillan had departed and David Coverdale took over vocal duties it is a different sound but still very Deep Purple. Favourite track is Soldier of Fortune, I saw Richie Blackmore play this live when I saw Blackmores Night a few years ago in Yeovil, superb!
