Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.7/100, a mean average of 77.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.8.

Good debut from one of the more polarizing prog groups. Though they've often been knocked for being unmelodic and over the top, which does poke in here in parts like in The Three Fates and Tank, this is a strong record with some of their best moments—the single Lucky Man is great, both The Barbarian and Knife-Edge deliver some satisfying heaviness, and Take a Pebble is simply beautiful. Uneven in spots, but a good starting point for ELP.

A great debut from influential musicians.

The album with Lucky Man really good nice to have. Best song: Take A Pebble, Lucky Man, Knife Edge.

Absolutely killer debut! Keith Emerson forever changed how we would look a the possibilities of keyboards of all types in popular music. This album is a true landmark in music and remains a standard bearer for progressive rock.
Keith Emerson assaults classical pieces with various electronic implements. Includes an early outing for the newly invented Moog synthesiser.

Great, but hasn´t aged well.
Solid debut from ELP. To be honest I can never settle on one album as my favourite ELP record. Occasionally it's this one. Is it their best? Some would say it was but although I probably don't think it's that (you never know) it's certainly one of five classic ELP albums. Good record.

Gran disco
Probably the first of many "Supergroup" combinations of the 70's. Great album, but not the best by this band. In my opinion the least important of their best 70's efforts when we are talking Tarkus, Trilogy, and Brain Salad Surgery.
First ELP album, good work mixing classical music and prog rock not easy to listening... Contains the hit Lucky Man...
