A true return to form, with Hey Jane easily being one of the tracks of the year
Hey Jane is perhaps the best song of 2012. This was an excellent album.

Good lyrics but musically is a regular album. I liked 'Mary' and 'Hey Jane'.

Not quite as profound as Ladies & Gentlemen, but also not all that far off.
I could listen to Hey Jane all day, that track is just so much fun!!!

Jason Pierce brings some better songs this time around but the spacey delivery still comes off a bit languid. That's not the case on "Hey Jane", "headin' for the top now" and "I am what i am" (i love backing vox and guitar wankery); but otherwise, i hope you can feel the words he sings because there isn't much more in his alt-space-rock to merit repeated spins. "so long you pretty thing" is a nice closer.

Fantastic album from a perennially underrated band.
Great album, my favorite of 2012 so far. Incredibly moving album, especially the final (and best track) "So Long You Pretty Thing". It reminds me a lot of "Hey Jude" by The Beatles, which is a pretty great compliment to get. "Hey Jane" is also just a great rock song as well. After Ladies and Gentlemen, this is a strong contender for Spiritualized's 2nd best album
