California's Natalie Lu, aka "Wisp," got her start by skipping the old-fashioned star-making machinery and uploading tracks to TikTok (including "Your Face," which is track 2 on this mini-LP). Apparently, all of these went viral immediately (and to be fair, not unjustifiably) and got her a record deal with Interscope, which is why the album is currently not on Bandcamp. To me, this just proves how successful you can be if you choose a name that accurately describes you and the music you're making, because while the tracks here are full of heavy shoegaze guitars and everything is properly drenched in reverb, Lu's voice is definitely "wispy," not to mention "breathy" and "childlike." Vocal-wise, obvious comparisons could be drawn with the Cranes' Alison Shaw, Liz "Grouper" Harris, Charlotte "Sea Oleena" Loseth and many others, all of whom are great singers, but combined with the heavy-shoegaze sonic "attack" here the sound is really more like the recent crop of Japanese, Korean, and Indonesian shoegaze bands with female vocalists, such as See The Eye and My Dead Girlfriend. (The latter is not to be confused with my actual girlfriend, by the way — I'm pretty sure she's still alive.)
