My personal favorite record from Swans' early days, this album really fleshes out the skeleton that 1983's Filth left behind. Adding a more melodic sound without compromising the unbridled intensity, Cop is the first instance of Swans doing what they do best, evolving.
The lyrics on cop are great!

"Filth" re-re-mastered
Didn't find quite the same punishing intensity as in Filth. Title track the best on the album for me.

This was like nothing I had ever heard. Mossiman's playing was like sledgehammer. Gira was the singer I didn't want to be because his world sonded so terrifying. I loved the danger of this album.
