They are diving way deeper into their undeniable production wizardry, but unfortunately, it seems they're drowning in it and leaving out most of their catchy songwriting skills out of the picture. The song structures have dissolved to the point in which a large percentage of the album feels like a distorted mess to sit through with brief pockets of discernible melodies emerging from time to time. It pains me to say this because I absolutely love the other SOTB albums, but this is a miss for me.
