Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.1/100, a mean average of 74.4/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.4.

One of my earliest vinyl’s I bought which definitely features most of their popular songs. Something I boogie along to when I listen to songs without trying to figure their meaning. One of my favorite tracks is Dark Eyed Cajun Woman because of that bluesy sound.

A great party record back in the day. There are some classic tracks here, hmm maybe I'll put it on the old turntable.

The Doobies would probably not be anybody's list of important or influential artists but this is my favourite album at present.
I was drawn to it by the hit singles China Grove & Long train Running but soon found there was so much more. South City Midnight Lady is Patrick Simmons' greatest song and is perfectly matched by Tom Johnston's Dark Eyed Cajun women.Ukiah,Natural Thing and the title track are all excellent. Two tracks short of ther perfect album

This is very solid classic, 70s rock with shades of bluesy riffs and synthesizers here'n'there, with hits "long train runnin'" and "china grove".
