Is it sad that this album was my very first exposure to rock music? I was born in 1991, and my parents raised me almost entirely on 70s funk and R&B, as well as early 90s New Jack Swing. In 1998 (seven years old at the time) I got real excited for the Godzilla movie, and wanted the soundtrack just so I could hear Puff Daddy's single. As I listened to it though, I noticed all these other really cool songs from a genre that I had basically never heard before: 90s alternative. Granted there aren't very many good 90s alt songs here (biggest exception is RATM's "No Shelter.") but this album will always hold a place in my heart, because without it I probably would have never heard half the music I listen to now.
