Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 68.3/100, a mean average of 67.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 68.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.6.

The weaker of the Velvet Revolver albums. Most tracks written from the '00's rock template. There's still some decent songs on it though

A pretty solid album, though many of the songs follow the same exact formula and sound pretty much the same, apart from the riffs and maybe a few add ons between songs. If there was greater diversity in songs, much like in "You Got No Right," and "Loving the Alien," with more diversity between instruments and songs, than the album would be a lot better. At its height, the album would get a solid 80, but its longevity is horrible and the album, in my opinion, suffers badly from sounding the same all throughout. The hard guitar gets old very fast, and once it does the album is quite forgettable, but besides that there are some timeless tracks in here.

I LOVED this in middle school. Which I'd argue is a good quality for some records. Kids need records too, this is a great one to get little dudes into the rock genre.

Good album. Best 10 songs average is 87,0/100 and the album can get good 85/100. Best songs are "Fall to pieces", "You got no right" and "Loving the alien" all 90/100. All other songs good 80-85/100.

All things considered -- an interesting sound, but the band fails to do anything worthwhile with it.

Easily the most pointless album of the 00's ...

I loved this album when it came out, but listening to it now it becomes apparent how much my taste in music has changed. A few very good tracks but overall pretty forgettable.
