More polished than the raw energy of earlier albums, but I enjoy it.

I really want to like Metric... I feel like I should: Canadian, great frontwoman, creative alt-rock sound. Their dearth of song structure makes me struggle to listen to them. I keep giving them a try - who knows? Maybe it will click.
Actually one of the best things they have done. All those keyboards are at the right level and it doesn't feel like it is falling over itself. Quite a good album, at times very pretty.

It's not one of the Best Albums Ever but it is a breath of fresh air that is most welcome after listening to something heavy like Swans, The Seer :)
Metric sometimes gets bashed by critics for their last couple of albums, but really this album is a good listen, with a couple of really catchy moments that are better than good.

I never thought Metric would be forward-propelling enough to remind me of artists like ladytron or pretty girls make graves, but this album continues their creativity ascension and mastery of their indie pop/rock sound. I enjoy the unforced choruses and especially the little electronic flourishes like in "breathin underwater". Track "youth without youth" is definitely the synth-rock standout here, but comparable tracks abound. Some songs have multiple chorus-like moments. This was a definite pleasant-surprise "WOWser!" album from an artist i've been casually following for a while and honestly didn't think could pull off an album this good.
Pretty good so far.
