Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 69.1/100, a mean average of 68.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 69.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.5.

It is obvious that the main elements that made Green Day what they are are already there, both in terms of sound and songwriting, but definitely not in terms of production. It is true that the length of the album compromises its consistency and there are tracks that could have been omitted. "Welcome to paradise" is easily the star of the album and one of the highlights of their career, even though they have included another version of it in "Dookie".

This plays more like an album of demos. Starts off well, but gets more average towards the end

Typical sound of like a high school band. Nothing special but not bad. Interesting to hear an earlier version of Paradise. Words I Might Have Ate was the only song that I liked that I hadn't heard before. The first two weren't great but not bad. Not a bad cover of My Generation.

THIS IS THE BEST ALBUM EVER! (In my opnion of course). Green Day is my favorite banda. It's a good álbum with good lyrics, kind of a lot of romance... but... It's the 2nd álbum from them. Awesome.

A solid album, despite the poor sound quality. No as known as the following hit Dookie, but Green Day already found his style and composed great songs such as 'Welcome to Paradise' or 'Who Wrote Holden Caulfield'.

Kerplunk is their last album before they made it big. It's not awful or anything, but it has a lot of the same problems 1,039 had. Mostly that it doesn't justify its length. You can see why it caught them attention though.

Green Day were beginning to get their act together with this release, which has quite a few strong tracks at the beginning of the album. It does not hold up all the way though and on the second half of the album they run out of material.
