Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 1% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.9/100, a mean average of 79.2/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 13.6.

To me, this is the very first punk album. It's got a perfect kind of stoner/slacker way of not caring if it is great or even good. Kind of like some angry kids learning how to play the songs as they were recorded them. I don't care what anyone says about We Will Fall, catch a buzz, lay your head back and put that one on and it'll do wonders. Hands down the best Stooges album, and one of the very best of the 60's.

A brilliant album except the over long We Will Fail. Not sure the song warrants inclusion never mind being 10 minutes long. Comes across very much as an album filler

I Wanna Be Your Dog and 1969 are great, the rest isn't as good but still not bad. The only throwaway for me is 10 minute We Will Fall which is unnecessary long.

Paren todo, que me quiero bajar!!! Esta frase de john lennon resume el primer disco de esta gran gran banda de proto punk o del estilo que cada uno piense que tienen. Iggy pop saca apalusos con sus letras abulicas, características del punk. "1969", "I wanna be your dog" and "no fun", clásicos del punk hoy mundialmente conocidos.

1969, I Wanna Be Your Dog, and No Fun are all good songs. The rest of this album...can't say much good about the rest of it. We Will Fall is 10 minutes you'll regret. There's nothing memorable in the other 4 songs. Really like Raw Power and Funhouse a lot more.

For this album the Stooges planned to record five songs which were for all intents and purposes were their live set of the day , these tracks were:
(1)"I Wanna Be Your Dog"
(2)"No Fun"
(3)"1969"
(4)"Ann" and
(5)"We Will Fall"
However Electra told the band they needed more songs and so 3 more tracks were hastily composed

The 10 minute slow dirge was a massive surprise fore me , most un-Iggy like

"I Wanna Be Your Dog" still sounds amazing today and carries this album

Just wanted to say that "I Wanna Be Your Dog" might be the best punk track ever recorded. Listening to this thing drives me insane.
