Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some artists can have several thousand ratings)
This artist is rated in the top 1% of all artists on BestEverAlbums.com. This artist has a Bayesian average rating of 84.1/100, a mean average of 83.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 84.8/100. The standard deviation for this artist is 12.3.

So many bands have been influenced by the Stooges' sleazy sound. Fantastic.
Easily in the top 5 greatest punk bands.
Several Classic albums - seminal proto punk band, Raw Power especially is one of my all time personal favourites
One of the most unique sound of all the time!
truly amazing.. it's more than punk, it's like destruction itself!
Truly created the real punk sound
If we can just go out and destroy every copy of The Weirdness on earth, digital and physical, then The Stooges will have the perfect discography. In all honestly, one of the 10 greatest bands ever and better then 99% of the punk bands they inspired, directly or indirectly.
One off the inventors of punk indeed!
you know something? ive been hearing talk whether london calling or nevermind the bullocks is the premiere punk album. but id say raw power.
Greatest band in my mind... I sincerely believe punk would not exist without them
