Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 79.5/100, a mean average of 79.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 80.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

I can’t believe I’m only hearing this and about this for the first time today. As a Catholic, this album is truly one of the best albums I’ve ever heard. I’m only halfway through and listening to it as I’m typing this. As soon as I heard Everything’s Alright, I got chills, and suddenly felt like everything was alright. This is a criminally underrated album.

One of the first rock operas, you could argue it was the first. It has some of the best vocals you’ll ever hear from it’s main leads and songs like Gesthemane and Everything’s all right can move you to tears even if you are not religious. I consider this the superior version of the musical with the exception of Judas, who’s actor does a slightly better job in the movie soundtrack. The production is miles ahead of the movie soundtrack, which buries all the instruments in the mix. You won’t ever hear a scream like Ian Gillans Jesus screams, they are just demonic. Nobody could wail like him, nobody! The only thing bringing any version of this musical down are the slow and unremarkable performances of the men trying to persecute Jesus. They aren’t bad, but they pale in comparison to the Main three cast members performances.

This was the first "rock opera" actually written by Broadway types and not by Pete Townshend. A huge uproar among Christian theologians actually raised awareness of the story that examined the human side of Christ and the plight of history's ultimate betrayer, Judas. As Judas is dying from a self-inflicted hanging, his final cries are: "My God, I've been used and you knew all the time. God, I'll never ever know why you chose me for your crime. You're so bloody. Christ, you have murdered me." Very thought-provoking stuff in 1969.

Fantastic album. Some absolute monster vocals on this. ALW was really a genius. Incredibly brave subjectmatter for 1970.

One of my very favorite albums. Production is top notch. Gillan and Head are awesome in the lead roles. Yvonne Elliman does not get near the credit she deserves as Mary Magdalene. A must-hear.

Ground breaking rock opera chronicling the early life and career of British labour politician Jeremy Corbyn who would go on to achieve great things despite the famous quote from his mother claiming "he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy".

tim rice isn't religious at all and webber is too big to say that he isn't, but doesn't talk about it. I suppose they think this is funny, "jesus christ superstar," "this jesus must die." lol, rice was knighted. the album was originally banned for blasphemy, anything by guys this huge to do such a thing gets my support. the last song on the album alludes to a verse which describes jesus's tomb as one in which no one was ever laid. taken by itself, it may be seen as a denial of the whole story. if they believed, they'd have probably used john 3:16, or anything else, to name the last track. they're brilliant guys.
