Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 60.7/100, a mean average of 59.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 59.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 19.0.

Life was released on July 6, 1987. It was Neil Young's final album with Geffen Records and featured the return of Crazy Horse.
The album was born out of frustration and legal battles.
The label Geffen sued Young for making music "not characteristic" of himself; this album was his defiant answer.
Most tracks were recorded live during the Rusted-Out Garage tour to capture a raw, unpolished energy.
In the Cover Young is pictured behind bars, with five marks on the wall representing his five "years" (albums) under contract with Geffen.
Neil não chegou a lugar algum com esse álbum.
YAWN. I had to stop listening to this more than once and do a lap around my house to try to shake it off. Absolutely no highlights and nothing going for it, Life is more like death. Please don't listen to this. I've only heard a couple things as bad as this.
The album is OK, but it´s among his weakest albums.
