In a couple places, he reminds you of his solid pop/rock debut, like on "i don't wanna see you" and "look into my eyes". But for the most part, he's not only toned down the gimmickry but also watered down the lyrics (light/right, fire/desire, ... all the cheesy rhymes are here). And there are only so many "nana"'s one can enjoy.
