Calexico is one of those bands, that nobody usually knows about (fully undeservedly). Their music is a fusion of mexican and american folk motives, sometimes with post-rock flavour, songs are imbued with deep melancholy, which erupts through the latin-american dancing rhytmes. Calexico belongs to the so-called Tucson scene (their music is born in Arizona's desert, not far from the mexican border). This group is extremely talented, don't miss them. Listen at least to the title song of this album, Algiers.
