Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album has a Bayesian average rating of 70.8/100, a mean average of 69.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 70.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.6.

On est loin de certains titres gênants des années 80. Bon chanteur, bon guitariste. Les compositions qui se veulent épiques manquent quand même légèrement leur cible.

Interesting how on a few tracks, his singing is similiar to the Rival Sons.

holy crap, krautrock? wha-what the heck. This is miles better than their over-commercialized, glossy hair metal crap.

A rather forgettable start for a band that would go on to much bigger and better things

One of the biggest metal bands in the world, Scorpions has had streaks of memorable albums and songs. Sadly, their beginning is not part of those streaks. "Lonesome Crow," the first Scorpions album, is a psychedelic prog rock debut that fails to live up to the epicness it tries to give. Lacking in lyrics at times (even for a progressive album), the only thing memorable is Klaus Meine's vocals which can make you forget the music and walk into the realm of Meine's unique sound. However, that only happens when he sings. As an attempt at prog, most songs are 80% instrumental or higher, and they usually fail to keep up talent. Still, it's nowhere near terrible, and I recommend it only for die-hard Scorps or prog fans.
