Rating metrics: Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.3/100, a mean average of 73.8/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.5/100. The standard deviation for this album is 11.7.

This was a late 60's Temptations album and was the first album to feature Dennis Edwards, and this is the start of my favourite era for the band.

The first of their Psychedelic soul period, this is a classic soul album. Side one is stellar with the title track, a very good version of I Heard It Through The Grapevine, and the wonderful Run Away Child, Running Wild, one of my favourite Temptations tracks.

Side Two isn't quite as good as side one but still had the Carole King song, Hey Girl, which is very good. All in all, a great album

Another great album from the temptations. Side one is an absolute belter. Side two is not as strong but a great album all the same

"Runaway Child, Running Wild" is absolutely smokin' (even with the brief baby-crying bit in the middle). It earns its 10 minute run time.

Fine. Not as psychedelic as I'd hoped.

Their last strong album. Temptations were one of the Motown greats, and this album is somehow overlooked.
