Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 55.6/100, a mean average of 42.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 42.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 30.3.

Well, I've definitely heard worse - a lot worse. One thing to notice is that every track here (except Gangnam) has at least 1 guest artist on it. That's probably good, because Psy isn't always the best singer, especially when he tries rapping. But then, that's part of the joke - along with the fact that a guy in his mid 30's is a Kpop star at all. I don't speak Korean, but I can still follow the English translation, and it's obvious that Psy is in the joke too. Blue Frog is a legit bop, and the best thing on the album. Passionate Goodbye is pretty good as well. But then we come to the big hit, that everyone is here for, Gangnam Style. The first time you hear it, it's clearly a catchy novelty song - but it would never be the worldwide hit/meme that it was, if not for the music video (and YouTube). The video is entertaining, and the song is amusing once or twice, but if you listen to it much more than that it becomes annoying. Not something I would really want to listen to unironically on my playlist. Moving on... Year of 77 and What Would Have Been are both fine, if a bit generic. They both sound like something you might hear in the closing credits of an anime. Both these songs, and especially Never Say Goodbye are really saved by the guest artists. Lena Park and Yoon Do Hyun provide much-needed cameos where Psy by himself wouldn't really work. Overall, this is a perfectly fine if somewhat forgettable EP, overshadowed by its novelty hit.
Wow, some savage comments here. I'd consider this merely average, personally.
Not as good as Carly Rae Jepsen.
What a terrible album. Anything that's ?-pop is terrible, but this takes the cake for being famous enough for me to waste time listening to it to see what it was all about.
Fuck you, psy.
Fuck you this is totally crap
