WEDDING RECEPTION DJ ESSENTIALS
by Captain_Dude

I've spent the past 30 years of my life owning and operating a mobile DJ service. I've compiled a list of what I have found to be the essentials to have on hand at a wedding reception. These albums have mass appeal and are in no way for the home headphone audiophile and record connoisseur. To DJ at a wedding reception, you must always remember that you're there to cater to a diverse audience. So, throw away your statements about a song being "overplayed" or "overrated." You're being paid to please a crowd and to keep them entertained. I'm posting this list in the hope that it will prove to be a valuable resource to others.

"Billie Jean," "Beat It," and "Thriller" are all way up there on the most-requested list. It's also become very popular for the wedding party to re-enact the dance from the music video. Type it into YouTube. Go ahead...I'll wait. [First added to this chart: 08/14/2014]

Entertaining list. Made me think of a few songs I need to pick-up, from the Flamingos and the Black Eyed Peas.
