Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.4/100, a mean average of 77.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.0.

My favourite Deftones album. Swerve City is such an energetic opener. Rosemary, Leathers and What Happened To You are also great. Poltergeist and Graphic Nature are the weakest tracks for me.
This was such an awesome album. It was so atmospheric heavy and energetic. I couldn't get enough. Each track flowed perfectly to the next. Rosemary was my favorite. It just takes you on a trip. I'm definitely going to dive more into the Deftones after finding this gem. I like this sound a lot. The vocalist is probably one of my favorite parts.
Of course its underrated on this site if it's not radiohead its not highly rated.
This site is for 12 year old hipsters.
This is no doubt one of the best albums of 2012
To add on:
The reason why this is one of my favorite albums of all time is just the overall combination of atmosphere and energy,it's incredible. I've never heard an album quite like this, it's unreal and otherworldly. It's very consistent too. I've listened to this album almost, if not 100 times
All I can say is, this album is incredibly underrated.
Du Deftones "de base" , pas décevant mais sans originalité..
White Pony ou est-tu ???
Really low rated for 2012, at least the critics really appreciated it, being the 8th highest rated album of the year. It's really another top notch album by Deftones, that keeps me interested every listen.
More consistent big brother of Diamond Eyes. Great album
Deftones really have it figured out now. They have completely left behind the nü-metal era, with which they were associated (unfairly, in my opinion). They've landed at a spot that is uniquely theirs: melodic, lush, and huge.
Every song is great, packed full of energy and emotion. Like other Deftones albums, the dynamics are amazing. Stephen's ominous guitar tones and Chino's screams continue to send chills down my spine. One of the best of the year.
