Brilliant band. They bring metal to an entirely new creative genre. You can have awesome heavy tracks mixed with beautiful songs on one album. For me they are one of the best metals bands ever! (Edited)
Amazingly creative band, who blend perfectly their influences, way beyond simple heavy metal. Always cursed by the fact of being contemporary to shit bands like Limp Bizkit or Drowning Pool. Make no mistake, Deftones are NOT a Nü-metal band. They are much, much more than that. There's a bit for everyone in their music, whether you like indie rock, shoegaze, alternative rock, heavy metal. i like Like Linus
At first I was getting kind of a headache on their heavier tracks probably because of the unusual production. However the band grew on me and now I'm greatly impressed by their content. White Pony classifies as one of the best alternative metal albums for me, maybe even the best, together with FNM's Angel Dust. They are also fairly consistent, however White Pony is one of the best mix of being heavy and artsy at the same time. Mindblowing. (Edited)
