Starts quite promising...I do like the Stereolabesque 2nd track but as the album goes on it just kinda drifts into a stoned trance and doesn't really go anywhere. Good but not great.

Brian Jonestown Massacre has changed lineups repeatedly, and their sound has changed along with it. So I won't bother trying to explain what their sound is (ok, if pushed, I might make up the term revival psychedelic), but will instead focus on what Aufheben sounds like. It's like psychedelic rock, dialed back to folk-rock intensity, mixed with world music. It kinda works.
