Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 2% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 78.1/100, a mean average of 77.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.2.

I am lucky enough to own a clear vinyl version with the original cover, not the cover in the picture on this site. Superb album from probably one of the most way out there bands at the time or maybe even since. I love the jazzy rockin groove of the title track. The musianship of this band often goes unnoticed, they tend to be remembered for the wacky elements.
Fantastic stuff from a criminally underrated band that still sound amazingly fresh and unique after almost 50 years. It's spacey, jazzy, quirky, in fact it's totally bonkers but I dare you not to at least smile when you listen to Gong. Wonderful.
Flying Teapot, Angel's Egg and You are all parts of the original Radio Gnome Invisible trilogy. Worth having because they are not like anything else, madly inventive and weird.
A psychedelic masterpiece.
This brilliant fairy-tale sketched concept album essentially evokes the inner-workings of the imaginatively fertile mind of its protaganist, Daevid Allen. The album combines surrealism, anarchist philosophy and expressionist theatre within a rich tapestry of jazz, rock and ambient music in a way that is totally unique. Unsurprisingly, guitarist Steve Hillage would become influential in the emergence of techno in the 1980s. In 1973 Gong predicted the bass heavy trance-inducing pattern of music that would become Acid House.
