Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).

Fantastic chart, gave me some stuff to check out aswell!
I like this chart with many artists and albums that I love but with at least half I've not heard - but since I like so much of it then I will get round to trying out some of those albums. Very British-centric though

Holy shit, Spilt Milk! Stupid Dream! Crime Of The Century! Excellent taste, really love this chart. Please send me some suggestions if you have the time.
I'm glad to see so much great prog in the first numbers, but sad to see so many Beatles.
Very nice prog chart
Nice chart. Lots of british (for the first time I could say "maybe too many?") and some nice prog surprises like Porucpine Tree or Marillion towards the end. Some comments on your choices would be great.
I love the fact you have a lot of XTC ( 1 of my favorite bands), mixed in
With many progressive bands, as well as some of the all time classic
Rock bands.
