I always liked Black Crowes, even though I was sometimes a little confused as to what kind of band they were trying to be. Now that Chris and Rich Robinson have fallen out again, big brother has formed his own band and put out an amazing debut album. This definitely isn't Black Crowes; its seven tracks average over eight minutes in length. The songs are looser, too, more like a live album. In fact, with all the slide guitar and keyboard pitch-bend-vibrato, the whole thing feels like it came straight out of The Fillmore.
