Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.7/100, a mean average of 73.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.0.

This was his comeback album after having not released an album for five years. I think that this might have been the first time that Harrison worked with Jeff Lynne (who produced the album). There was also contributions from Ringo, Elton, Eric (only first names needed) and Jim Keltner. A stellar line-up.

It's not George's best work but it is a decent album with some good tracks i.e. Got My Mind Set On You and When We Was Fab.

I think this is a top 5 solo Beatles record. It's great from top to bottom.

It's not really special at all. Why is it rated so high?

An excellent album. Probably his 2nd best album after All things must pass. Hugely enjoyable with great hooks and songs you remember.

IMO one of the best GH albums and definitively the one I listen to the most.
Clapton's work through the record is brillant.

Very very good.

One of George Harrison's most successful albums. Cloud nine, was perfect for the time, although the Jeff Lynne production sounds a little dated now. Still, some good songs in, if that's what it takes, when we was fab, and the massive hit single, got my mind set on you. Enjoyable, albeit slightly safe album.
