Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.9/100, a mean average of 74.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.4.

Great Album, their sound is addictive and catchy, it's more mainstream than others but still Beasty!

A forgotten album but a strong one in the Boys' catalogue. Besides two particular tracks, none stand out in most listeners' minds but it reminds some of them of how they can do things like Ill Communication's second half or B-Boy Bouillabaise very well and almost make an entire album loosely based off of that principle (high instrumentation, relaxed vocals).

Key Cuts: Intergalactic, Body Movin, Putting Shame in Your Game

Love the album as it's the Beasties. The hits are great and the rest are ok. Top 5 Beastie album.

Since I hated the song "Super Galactic" at the time, the station would be changed every time this one came on. So inevitably, I'd end up with a few minutes of this song on my voice mail every few days.

I thought I'd go back and really like this one, as it seems like every other Beasties album gets better over time and with more listens. The problem is that most of this doesn't even sound like the B-Boys. The songs that do are fine, but as for the rest, I can do without. The first time I listened to the CD I'd burned with this on it, I thought I had made a mistake and copied the wrong tracks over. Unfortunately, there was no mistake.

A bit of a step down from Ill Communication. Still the Beasties, still better than most, but there's more filler than before, and the standout tracks are not quite as solid. Maybe I'm disappointed because I expected so much...

Some don't like this one as much as their others, but I think it's a great album. It might even be my favorite by them. The sound is mostly electronic and there are a lot of great beats and grooves here.
