Clocking over 2.5 hours this is quite possibly one of the first live-audience recordings ever made, being cut directly into vinyl as it was happening (which explains the missing music for parts of the concert when the vinyl platters were changed). It is impossible to absorb it in one listening - I am listening to it throughout the day today. It is clearly a document of Ellington's band in top form.
