This is the same as the 1991 "The Mix" album, just a 2009 remaster reissued.
I am sorry to bump into other listeners and fans but this album is not only superfluous but unfortunately also an unacceptable attack on the music as it first appeared on the various sophisticated albums. Some interventions at “The Mix” that annoy me immensely: adding alternative melodies that ban all punch from the original track, modified sounds (strings and vocoder) as if a battery of cheap instruments were dragged in to make the original track completely unrecognizable, utterly unnecessary elements such as drumfills, new and very irritating drum sounds, bass sounds that you normally don't associate with Kraftwerk. The adapted new bass line from Radio-activity mutates the original track. I refuse to listen any longer. Driving the Autobahn has become an unpleasant experience. Wells and dimples. Cheap sounds, completely unnecessary “bruitage” (Noise pollution), incomprehensible interventions in the structure (such as the car that stops and restarts, what a horror). Listening to The Mix feels like a real torture. So it is also not a good idea to continue writing here. I also go cycling.
A really impressive remix album ! Energetic and danceable
Great reworked/remix album, perhaps the best I've ever listened to. Kraftwerk manage to update some of their very best tracks without ever losing those playful melodies that make their music such a joy to listen to. Give it a go!
