Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 66.4/100, a mean average of 64.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 64.7/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.1.

For a long time, I personally perceived "America" as a simplified version of Crosby/Stills/Nash, sometimes even as a "girl's" version. However, years of listening have changed my opinion. Yes, some of the songs sound like a copy of CSN, but they also have original and beautiful melodies!
If on the first album they performed unkempt and a little wild folk-rock, here they already shine with arrangements and melodies. Hat Trick is probably their best album and at the same time the peak of the quality of their music. Further there will be already more straightforward music. And here they are happy to write and perform the most beautiful melodies.
In the center of the album is a monumental 8-minute title track, in which they managed to famously combine several songs at once. I must say, all the parts of this great song are just gorgeous! Another of my favorites here is It's Life. However, I note that there are no bad, weak songs here at all. The album is really amazing and clearly has to take its rightful place among the world's rock productions.
Joe Walsh even played in one of the songs here. Bruce Johnson and Carl Wilson from the Beach Boys sang in the title song. (Edited)
