Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 3% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 77.7/100, a mean average of 77.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 78.6/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.1.

The best way I can describe this album is its simply an obvious tip of the hat to every 60's band and style that influenced Mr.'s Partridge and Moulding. I prefer this album to many of the actual XTC studio albums and I am a huge fan of XTC. I have many friends who don't like XTC that much but love this album. The best part of this album is to play spot the influence - Early Pink Floyd, the Move, the Hollies, etc. You can classify this album as a novelty one off project by XTC but I think it might be one of their greatest achievements and stands up their with Skylarking, Black Sea, and English Settlement and this a compilation of both the EP and album by the Dukes comes highly recommended to XTC fans but also fans of 60s psychedelic music.
The alter egos of XTC make psychedelic music in the 80's that's a really good time. This is the complete 265 O'Clock album and the Psonic Psunspot EP combined.
