Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album has a Bayesian average rating of 72.9/100, a mean average of 71.5/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 72.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.4.

An album I've been underrating for a long time, but on balance, I love basically every song here--give or take their Revolutionary Hydra cover, which I still have a fondness for. While Death Cab's debut is often compared to their Pacific northwest indie contemporaries, there's a bookishness and sheen to their songs that set them apart, as well as a pop appeal that eludes most artists of their ilk while still maintaining immense feeling and intelligence.
Indie alternative at its finest.
Some fresh material from DCFC, quite enjoyable. 8/10.
Their best album. Not yet being to into them selves, trying to hard not to try. Sounding to much of something smoth and irritating. It's not a major band in history but this album is most ok.
First two Death Cab albums are junk, don't listen to the indie heads who get their rise out of finding obscure starts from popular bands.
Skip straight to The Photo Album if you want to get into Death Cab. Everything after is at least listenable at it's worst, unlike this pile of indie emo poorly produced garbage
Good debut, and some real classics, but they only went up from here.
The sophomore album by this band out of Seattle. To me Death Cab is the kind of band that I enjoy when I'm listening to it, but then have very little desire to ever seek it out to listen to it again. I don't see how anyone could despise this band, but also don't see how this could be anyone's favorite band either.
