Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 5% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.6/100, a mean average of 75.7/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 76.9/100. The standard deviation for this album is 14.3.

The instrumentation on this record is very fun and there is a lot of very good solos from all of the musicians. It sounds very vintage and always brings up feelings of nostalgia despite me being born decades after this first released. The sound is very wholesome and warm and it sounds like Prima is singing exclusively to us. His vocal is phenomenal and the accompanying performance from Keely Smith acts as a brilliant contrast to his more masculine rough tones. The trumpet is a major highlight for me and really elevates tracks like Jump, Jive An' Wail. However, the music does get repetitive by the close and it could do with some more experimentation thrown in as well. Overall, this is an extremely fun album that stirs all kinds of feelings whether its your first time hearing it or your 100th time.
Shocked to see this so low! King Louis slayed this album!

Such a fun record! I really feel teleported back to the 50's with this one. A nice balance of sweet and funny, and just a wonderfully performed album.

Love it.
A really fun listen! Granted, the record sounds a bit dated in some parts, but that doesn't take away from its overall charm. If you like big band music, this one's for you.
