Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 8% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.0/100, a mean average of 75.0/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.3/100. The standard deviation for this album is 9.9.

All perfectly serviceable songs, no real lows, but the main problem with the album is that there isn’t a really brilliant song on here that blows your socks off. The closest to brilliance here would be the opener and the closer which are both great.

Very slick, uplifting, feel good album. Very polished, so not as raw like some of their earlier albums. Every song is a get up and move song. Great music that won’t let you down.

I'm also not sure why this sits so low on the charts. It doesn't blow your socks off, but there are also very few misses. Maybe the problem is that it's a fairly bright and cheery album?

I don't understand why this album isn't ranked higher ?
Am I missing something here.... The only thing I can think of , is this record "sounds" more commercial than their first 4 (also excellent) albums.
Solid throughout both sides !!
