Ultra-literate complex pop songs with catchy but adventurous melodies. This, the fourth Loud Family cd, has a band whose experiments are lovelier, less reckless, and lyrics, dramatically reduced in anger (not at all in wit), that still strike me as rock's best attempt to portray growing up and growing wiser as a worthwhile adventure.
