A continuation of Scott Miller's embrace of wise-elder -- and, yes, wiseass-elder -- adulthood, in his and his band's still endlessly melodic and allusive and grad school-educated and adventurously produced pop way. The least overtly experimental Loud Family album (except "Controlled Burn"), full of songs you can sing along to. If, that is, you're confident you can handle that many chord changes; I dig the challenge.
