Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. This record is absolute garbage. There is nothing redeemable here whatsoever.
not exaggerating when I say it's one of the worst albums of the decade.

Words like trash and repulsive are far too strong & negative. She doesn't merit such attention or energy. She's simply disposable, fun pop. Something else will come along, but for now, it's fun fluff.
One of the decade's worst abominations. Utterly repulsive.
Not really worth checking out, unless you really like the whole doo-wop thing. Some good hooks and messages are ruined by bad songwriting, and then there are the boring hooks and bad(controversial, at least) messages coupled by bad songwriting.

Her musical vocabulary borrows heavily from the rhythms of the 1950s, but her lyrical themes of are those of the empowered 2010s woman. Her singing is competent, but for me she doesn't quite sell it. Listen to "Dear Future Husband": even Meghan doesn't believe she's going to find a man like the one she's describing. But overall, it's a lot of fun.

There are times when this reminds me of Amy Winehouse, but the content is so weightless that it ends up being more like Lily Allen. It's fun but forgettable. I think she has the voice to do more than we hear on this one (seriously, no more white girls rapping, please).
