Beautiful record.
Such tasty soundscapes and elegant compositions.
Perhaps the most important album in Sylvian's career. It showed how far he had come in the short time since the demise of Japan. Red Guitar is class
For all you "smooth rock" fans out there, this is essentially the British equivalent of Yacht Rock. Whereas the 70s American yacht rock was breezy & upbeat, the New Romantics were somber & arty. Owes a sizable debt to Roxy Music.

David Sylvian is not afraid to try something new and his first solo album is a big departure from his Japan days. Beautifully arranged and topped with his rich vocals, this is a very special album.
