Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. It's funny to see how this label looks like one big band, because their sound is so unmistakenly distinctive. And the lengths they can go with this style - from EDM to bubblegum pop to unrecognizably experimental - tells me it's more than just a style; it's a genre. A genre that they perfectly showcase on this compilation album.
A very good and slightly twisted compilation from the PC music crew with moments of pop excellence !
A unique and highly eclectic compilation of songs from the PC Music crew. Some of it is brilliant, some of it less so.. but all of it IS exciting music.
Nothing is being released like this today, and for that reason you should definitely give it a listen, also a lot of it is catchy which is a plus!
