I didn't think it was still possible for any artist to be this out-of-the-box using melody. He manages to bring trap's lazy rapping and anti-melody to such an extreme it reaches some unknown island of stability again. I especially didn't expect it from someone with no musical education whatsoever, and who says his single inspiration has been Lil Wayne. It is said that you have to know how to play your instrument before you can know how not to play it; another fact that can be striped out. Once again it is shown that when it comes to art any pattern is just a coincidence; every rule can and will be broken.

Hate him or love him, in less than a month after this EP every DJ wanted to be him. At release wasn't a fan; I preferred more subtle EDM by deadmau5 of daft punk, but in retrospect this was big and it changed the scene immediately.
His quantum vocal samples and horror drops are still everywhere in pop music and EDM (for as much it is alive still), but not as succesful for sure. [First added to this chart: 10/09/2019]

Not a fan of this branch of music, but I can't deny that it is a branch of music.

When I found that Coldplay had a very similar sound as M83's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming on Mylo Xyloto, I was very confused they were released a day apart. Who inspired who now? So I went looking for a third album that could've inspired both. I scrolled past this one, and it became very clear to me suddenly.

Saw your comment on my chart - very weird but you're basically correct, especially about the Freddie Got Fingered bit (although I was about 14 when I made it). Barter 6 number 1 is an absolute shout. Thugger is the goat
