Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 15% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.4/100, a mean average of 73.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 74.8/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.9.

This album is extremely relaxing and would be the perfect record to put on and vibe to while you are trying to concentrate on other things. There are some great songs present on this record and the atmosphere created is so chill and peaceful. The record is extremely soulful as well and I am a big fan of the vocal performance. However, at times it can feel a bit empty and if you properly inspect it you can find it to be quite dull. The run time is too long as well in my opinion as multiple tracks could be cut. It just lacks substance and is missing an edge that would propel it to the next level. Overall, it is a decent record that I could see myself listening to again but I won't be rushing back to hear it again.
Extremely chaotic. Between the band sounding more like they're rehearsing (and the cheesy 80's video game sound effects) to the vocalist's yodeling, I got about midway through before I was just hoping for the record to end.
I'm 100% with zags7000 on this, the fact that an album like this is so overlooked is actually quite disappointing. Tracks like 'Shaolin Monk Motherfunk', 'Borderline With My Atoms' and 'The Lung' are among some of the best of their kind that I've ever heard.
The influences are really easy to pick out, from D'Angelo to Flylo to The Beach Boys to Flamenco to Stevie Wonder and so on. Each track feels like a jigsaw puzzle made up of different sections of music that feature moments which show off these influences, but in such a tasteful way that is really difficult to achieve.

I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this! A neo soul box of delights.

From the critics to friends everyone I can think of seems to really like this album. The only thing going against it seems to be the lack of attention from people. Trust me in saying this is one of the years best albums.
