Mendelssohn's 3rd and 4th symphonies tend to be more lauded, but his 5th is my personal favorite. Great recordings here. Discogs lists this as a 1973 release, I believe Karajan/Berliner Philharmoniker's recordings of the 3rd (from 1971) and 4th were later packaged together in the 90s. There's also a 1973 box set which has all Mendelssohn's 5 symphonies (#3 originally released in 1971, #4/5 on one disc in 1973, and #1/2 on two discs in 1973).
