Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 4% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 76.8/100, a mean average of 75.9/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.2/100. The standard deviation for this album is 15.8.

This one was touted by a few outlets as being like his attempt at a pop album or something to that effect, which is obviously bollocks. What is great about this one is that it’s so heavy and dark, not that these were qualities missing in his previous work. It’s just pleasant to have an album charting his progression into fully murky territory.
Best track: I Bite Through It. It’s like a shredded-up pisstake of EDM. Sounds a bit like Oval too.
Far more visceral than Replica and the result is one of his best.
I wasn't totally sold on R Plus Seven, but this one is like a combination of all my favourite aspects of his previous work. Loving the weird vocal manipulation. So alien. Every now and then it slithers up to the TV screen to watch some impossibly happy pop diva dancing to a catchy tune, and the creature tries to rearrange its tentacles to imitate her beauty; glimmers of humanity emerge and recede in its undulating dance - for a split second we see a beautiful face, but the jawbones twist and the muscles spasm, the nose sinks back into the swirling mass. The shape cannot be held for long. This album is Scarlett Johansson in Under The Skin just before being doused with gasoline.
Love it. Up there with Holly Herndon's Platform as my favourite electronic album of the year.
The intro and interludes are the only blemish on this album until a drop off after Freaky Eyes. Really solid release though.
I mean, damn. What an album!!
This album is so weird still so good to my hears! Ezra, Mutant Standard and Animals are the best ones!
